This is my 476's post on this blog o O I never realised it's been around for so long... and that I've posted that much. (not a mobile entry, this one. I'm doing a proper entry!)

Archive isn't available to the public (except to some who can get into it by cheating the green snow rabbit =_= poor thing...) but reading some past posts made me realise... wow, things changed so much throughout the years, including my way of writing blog posts.

... I suppose it's good. Sometimes change is for the worse- in fact, for most cases, change in a person is what brings about the end to a good friendship or relationship (eg, change of heart, change of attitude, change of mind, change in environment), but I think in this case, the change is for a better turn.

L can truthfully say she is happy.

What is happiness?

A combination of hedonist theory, and the life-satisfaction theory, and to get one's desires maybe? Life may not be all about pleasure- there is more to one's happiness than merely "feeling good", but I get enough pleasures in life these days, with a good balance of "pain" and "pleasure" (eg. spending a day with someone special vs having to work all night on a frustrating difficult essay). Life satisfaction... outlook on life isn't too bad at the moment. Sure, after graduating, there's going to be half a year of... void, but I have plans for that half a year, goals to work towards, relationships to sustain and uphold, work to further improve, people to care for (note to self: really need to spend more time with my family, I can't believe I didn't see my mum at all two days ago, despite living in the same house) and loads more. Then the question of: Have I gained what I desire? In a simple word: yes. (no further elaboration of that =D )

IMO, people must spend time to reflect and introspect themselves from time to time... in order to answer the question of "am I happy". I used to ask this question to a friend very often (and I get asked back as well, but I used to simply answer without much thought, just like how one would ask customers "how are you today?" and 99/100 of them will reply "good" or "well"... when obviously, not everyone of those 99 people will be truly "good" or "well"), and I wish to ask that question to that same friend now. I wonder what the answer will be. If it's a "no", what can be done to make a person happier? Or, how would one make oneself happy.. should be a more appropriate question. It isn't considered selfishness to want happiness. I still think that if you're happy, others around you will feel it and it will somehow rub off on them too. I know it happens to me- if I'm in a crappy mood, and I'm talking to someone who's bubbly and happy.. sometimes it's hard not to be happy too. People like that are amazing- those that you can't stay angry at for long, or those that subconsciously make others happy just being around them.

I shall leave it at that. Since I'm at my computer, I can post more than one photo! =D (be prepared if you're capped) Photos are not in order, just random ones:

Have you seen any cake as cute as that? =D 85 degrees have been putting out cakes like that recently, and it's just absolutely cuteness. Imagine cutting a slice out of that and putting it in your mouth.... (I don't think they'll have the sense of (black) humour to fill it with red jam or something ^^'')

Hm... uni food= not that great. I have yet to try something really good from uni... everything's kinda ranging between mediocre to extremely bad...

Oh my gosh, nostalgic. Have not had durian in forever (thanks to half my family not being able to stand the fragrance of it) and eating this was pure "pleasure" =P

Haven't had time recently to bake/cook/make anything really... but this was quite recent, chicken pie! =D Made everything, from pastry (crust and top) to filling.

Comfort food. Currently top on the list: cookies and cream ice cream.

And after 10 minutes, all gone! =D Oh, it's on special next week in Franklins! Save $2~ they should stop putting ice cream on special, I have a tub of ice cream in the freezer every single time I work (always replaced by a new tub as soon as I finish one due to specials)

Tuesday. The day two assignments are due.. Philosophy and digital arts. Was really sleepy this morning and after handing in those two assignments, I went to yum cha with TT at regal. Ate chicken feet for the second time in my life and my opinion of it hasn't really changed. It's like eating spongy, loose fatty skin.. ^^" their siew mai is really good though, and mango pancake! ><

Headed over to Norita Boardgame cafe to "work on our essay due on friday".. But it ended up (right from the start) becoming a 2 hour long game of Scrabble. I lost by two points ; ;

On the bus back home and it's time to (really!) work on this essay.

I am officially sick of essays. 3 in one week is more than enough to last me a lifetime.

Waiting to get picked up at Strathfield and sat at Gloria Jeans for about 45 minutes working on my essay.. (Yea, it's still not done, but I have learnt a lot from researching about it, I feel enlightened, haha) and this man was going around to everyone asking for change.

The thing is, after a while, he got enough money and.. Went to the counter to get a slice of raisin bread with butter. From Gloria Jeans.

Call me unsympathetic and hypocritical, but I don't understand that at all. Why would someone with not enough money and desperate enough to beg.. get overpriced food from a cafe, when a supermarket is just close by (5 minutes walk max. And it was still open) and he could have gotten a whole loaf of raisin bread and a stick of cheap butter for the same price?

Ok, I'm not exactly poor (though I like to claim that I am but a poor student) and I still have a job despite the currently atrocious economy, but still, why go after luxury when it is totally not necessary?

Maybe I'm just annoyed because I feel ripped off for donating money to Gloria Jeans rather than to a needy man.

Trivia question: best ramen in sydney is from..?

That's right~ went to ryo's ramen at crows nest yesterday. Ended up at lane cove first time round, but managed to get there eventually after getting slightly lost ^^"

Work's almost over! One hour more! And then home to 47 and my essay T T

Meet 我的新朋友! It's name is 2647, or just 47. Sitting on my desk and encouraging me to work on my phil2647 essay.. Thus its name ^^" it's under my very bright and hot lamp, so it'll grow big and strong.. Hopefully~

Thank you, TT! =D

Happy easter sunday! Am chilling at ten ren tea house eating peanuts and drinking tea. What we're missing is one more person and a mahjong set. Except I can't play, haha. Very relaxing~

UPDATE: Am home now after a fun day out. Went for easter service at church in the morning with family before heading off to city. Had breakfast at BontaVista again, and then World Square to buy roasted sweet potato pocky-like snack, and a bag of roasted peanuts, before going to Ten Ren (above). We proceeded to devour the whole packet of peanuts between the three of us (and the servings per packet is meant to be for 14) and spent quite a while there....

Headed off to darling harbour where there's the circus skills sydney festival going on. Since we had time, we went to iMax and watched Monsters vs Aliens 3D~ with 30% off, thanks to the diner voucher which A gave me (well, my brother technically) ages ago. Pretty alright movie, you really would just see it for the 3D effects, the story plot was pretty weak... but animation was cute though...

Then, it was dinner at Takeru and then back home! =D Fun day!

Having breakfast at 1:30 while on a break. Woke up too late and got out of the house in 7 minutes. >< sat my alarm to friday instead of saturday, so it didn't wake me up..

It's super busy today! >< people should be away or at home during this long easter break, not buying groceries!

Update: Just got home from that freaking 9.5 hours shift, and I'm just about ready to collapse. It wasn't actually all that bad, because there weren't any big dramas, everyone got their breaks, everyone managed to somewhat balance, and I was in the service area with C.H. for most of the time, which is always good =) but... draining... extremely... extremely... draining...

Feeling a bit funny because all I had to eat today were two bowls of cornflakes with milk and sugar (yes, how can people not put sugar in their milk when having cereals? It just doesn't taste right) so I guess I shall wait for dinner. Highlight was receiving an extremely sweet (and cute!) mms from someone special (^^~) that really brightened up my otherwise dull and depressing long day. I would post it up... but no, I'm selfish on this matter =P though I'm sure if anyone saw it, their day will be brightened up too.

Fun, fun long weekend... it's back to Franklins for me on Monday =( Time to ask myself what the heck I'm doing with my life... and my holidays.

Philosophy essay: 10% complete
Gaming report: 5% complete
Japanese essay: 0% complete

GREAT! >___<

This was from yesterday. Went to this cafe called BontaVista at George Street. It's a malaysian/ italian cuisine cafe/ restaurant, and had roti in their menu. Didn't try that though and had breakfast consisting of sausage and egg, and also a beef minced Bruschetta.

>< It was amazingly good, and it was such a shame that the place was so empty because the food is so good. The chef gave us a complementary dish of sausages and salad too.

Shall have to go back someday and try their roti. Not sure if it'll be as good as Mamak's, but it should be worth a try.

Happy easter! Don't eat too many chocolate eggs! As TT would say, "it all goes to the thighs." ^^"

Movies

Am currently sitting at starbucks reading the Morning Herald. It's only 70¢ with any drink purchase, and since we were talking about how newspapers will phase out in about a decade, I decided to get it today.. Just for the sake of the physicality of it more than anything else.. And the fact that I'm bored and didn't bring a book to read all day. Was going to go to Kino and get a manga but it's not open this early in the morning.

Oh yeah, dragonball movie?! Since when did hollywood start making anime into live action? And it had to be dragonball out of all animes.. I'm tempted to watch it just for fun, just like sailormoon live action, which was.. Highly entertaining ^^"

Shall continue reading before heading off to uni. Mid sem break coming up and there's 3 essays/ assignments due straight after.. Noo ><

(There's this guy who comes to Starbucks quite regularly some mornings and just sleeps.. Today he's here again and snoring loudly ._. )

This is jC

JC and I are sitting at wentworth top level, procrastinating away 3 hours before going to our last tut at 4. With another half an hour to waste, we're slowly nodding off to sleep...

The fun thing about mobile blogging is that it's such a good time waster. If I had the internet, I'll be going on stumbleupon or fmylife to kill time. JC is typing an application for a job and she needs to submit it soon, so I won't disturb her..

^^ *takes a photo of her* =D

Healthy breakfast!

Sitting at starbucks doing my reading for ASNS. How cold was it this morning?! To make things worse, the bus was air-con'd till it felt like north pole >< even now with a warm coffee, my hands are freezing and it's so hard to type this.

Shall continue with my reading before walking to uni. Dinner date tonight with my brother and pi! =D can't wait~ we'll be having mussels at the Barvarian Bier Cafe! Wednesday night special- all mussels half priced!

Cookies~

TT made these cookies for me today! It was based off a Nigella recipe~ needless to say, it was so nice! Really chocolatey and sinfully sweet ><

Went to newtown for lunch today at Thai 2. Been awhile actually since I went there.. Then had a tutorial, heading home now and already the sky is darkening. Real autumn is here~ love winter! ,,^__^,,

Ok, shall catch up on some sleep on the bus trip. The dark weather makes it all the nicer to sleep. Let's just set an alarm so I don't sleep past my stop.. Again.. ><

Game!

Taking a half an hour break from work.. Been serving customers without even thinking anymore. >< JC bought guild wars for me! I actually have a report to do where we have to play an online game and analyse it for Digital Arts. That should be quite fun to do this Easter break~

I'm falling asleep at the moment. Been good today and had no coffee or tea.. Or energy drink. I'm running on nothing! >< pi energy perhaps~ =P

It's easter soon, and i just finished working. Apparently these Ferrero eggs aren't sold at any other supermarkets, only at Franklins, so I got a few packets to give away this easter~ The few Lindt chocolates were free, this lindt representative came to Franklins to promote Lindt this easter. He asked this cashier to use his camera and take a photo of him with some people, but she dropped the camera and now it's stopped working. And he blames Franklins. Moral of the story: Don't be nice, do not touch other people's properties, because they'll just turn around and be a jerk if anything happens to their stuff.... Or so we were warned to do at work.

What is society turning into?? The cashier was upset about it, and called in afterwards to say that she's sick and cannot come in to work tomorrow. Poor girl.

Here I am, sitting at an empty train station awaiting the train, when I have an essay to spit out that is due tomorrow.. I've had 2 cups of coffee and a cup of strong tea, so looks like tonight is party time for me in front of my computer and my textbook~ =_=

Went with pi on thursday to this really cute cafe at newtown called Varga Bar Expresso. It was opposite the cinema, quite hidden around the corner of the street. Pi had a burger and i had a pasta. The servings were huge and we almost couldn't finish it. A nice casual place to have coffee, snacks or lunch by yourself or with a partner/friend.

Went to uni for breakfast and had.. Bacon and maple syrup pancake! It was actually quite nice. Weirdly nice and the thought of eating something so unhealthly strange is quite tantalising~ think I shall try more things with maple syrup now, it's such a good sweetener!

Maple coffee anyone?
